Pallet Jewels

Pallet jewels are small, precisely cut pieces of ruby that sit in the arms of the anchor. They form the contact surfaces through which the anchor wheel transfers its energy to the balance wheel. This creates the characteristic stepping motion of the movement.

In a movement, the anchor plays a central role in the regulator, and the anchor stones are the crucial functional surfaces that transmit the impulse between the escape wheel and the balance wheel.
